The Story of Bethlehem and Water Wisdom

The Sea Song

The codes, the city, and the song of water — a study of King David, Bethlehem, and the wisdom that flows through generations.

In 1522, Rabbi Moses ben Mordecai Bassola wrote:

“At the summit of the mountain opposite Hebron is the burial place of Jesse, David's father. It has a handsome building with a small window that looks down on the burial cave. They say that once they threw a cat through the window and it emerged from the hole in the Cave of the Patriarchs. The distance between them is half a mile.”

While Rabbi Moses’s story of the cat may have a kernel of truth, his assumption about Jesse’s burial site is mistaken. Jesse was a Bethlehemite — not from Hebron — and it is illogical to believe he would be buried elsewhere.

The legend of the cat, however, lives on in Bethlehem. My grandmother told me many times that a mysterious cat would appear in our family garden near the lemon tree and then vanish suddenly. According to my grandfather, he knew the entrance to the City of David but never revealed its location, fearing interference from the Ministry of Antiquities.

About forty years ago, my father and uncle excavated our garden, digging nearly 15 meters deep until they reached a wall. When my grandmother called them to take a break, a dark cloud appeared, heavy rain began to fall, and the site was quickly covered again with earth. Frightened by what had happened, they abandoned the excavation.

According to my uncle, the graves of King David, Solomon, and others lie about 40 meters below the surface, with the entrance to the caves beneath our home in Bethlehem. He described limestone columns extending from our neighbor’s property (the Hazboon family) through the area that now includes Bethlehem University. Beneath all this, he believed, lies the true City of David.

Many Bethlehemites who live in this area share remarkable stories. Some have reported seeing a man dressed entirely in white — wearing a white tallit — emerging from their wells to pray before disappearing again. One of my neighbors, who built an altar for King David outside her house, says she sees this same figure appear from behind the wall near her well, pray in her yard, and vanish back into the stone.

Historical sources mention that when the Mamluks arrived in Bethlehem around 1250, they destroyed the city’s walls and the great Byzantine Cathedral that once stood on King David’s Hill — a cathedral named for David and Solomon. Since then, few have spoken of King David’s Hill. Sadly, both the Vatican and the Greek Orthodox Church have concealed the truth, and many modern Jewish historians have turned their attention solely to Jerusalem, ignoring Bethlehem — the true City of David.

But the evidence remains:
King David’s burial site, the resting places of the righteous kings and prophets, and even the Ark of the Covenant lie in Bethlehem — in the heart of the City of David.

Biblical Confirmation – Micah 5 (Micah

But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient days.

2 לָכֵן יִתְּנֵם עַד־עֵת יוֹלֵדָה יָלָדָה; וְיֶתֶר אֶחָיו יְשׁוּבוּן עַל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.
Therefore will He give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth; then the residue of His brethren shall return with the children of Israel.

Bethlehem Ephrathah — once small among Judah’s clans — now has almost none.
According to the Torah codes, the City of David and the Ark will one day be revealed from above — and only through divine will — to bring peace to all the earth.

Bethlehem is not Hebron.
Bethlehem Ephrathah is the sacred House of God — the House of Bread — from Adam to today and beyond.

Bethlehem and Its Native People

Bethlehem, known as Beit Lechem — the “House of Bread” — is more than a birthplace of kings. It is a symbol of provision, sustenance, and legacy. From Ruth, the Moabite woman who chose loyalty and faith, to King David who shepherded his people with foresight, Bethlehem’s story is one of resilience and divine provision.

Its native people lived in rhythm with the land, dependent on its fields, its wells, and its rains. In the codes, Bethlehem appears repeatedly as a place where treasures of wisdom are hidden — wisdom that points to water as the true inheritance of generations.

Key Insight: Bethlehem is not only the cradle of kings but also the cradle of water wisdom — a reminder that life and leadership are always tied to provision and care for the people.

The Sea Song: The Order and the Hill

  • "My name is Eternity, my name is Grace... The Sea Song, in my pleasant tree, in my daughter’s house Ruth... From Ruth’s house the entire shooting and the entire fire will end and the Sea Song will be completed."

  • In the field of Bethlehem of Ephrath stands a man‑made tumulus — a noble wisdom hill — covered and bound by Solomonic columns. Beneath downtown homes and streets lies a carved limestone city with chambers and a rotary hamlet; wells and a garden mark its approach. The entrance is said to open on the 21st of Av.

The Sea Song Studies — Codes of Kings and Water Wisdom

  • The codes connect Bethlehem and Jerusalem with King David’s resting place, called Water Wisdom, Ruth’s city, or David’s hill.

Key Insight: The burial place of kings is tied to hidden treasures, just as water is the hidden treasure humanity must preserve and rediscover.

  • This study traces the kings of Israel and Judah by name, aligning their reigns with coded references to water, heritage, and continuity.

Key Insight: Leadership was always tied to stewardship — and water is the resource every leader had to secure for their people.
